Codes of Conduct
The main aim of the Youth Super Cup is not only to help develop quality footballers but more importantly quality people with values and morals that will be used in their future lives and careers, whatever that may be.
Respect should always be present on and off the football field — for referees, coaches, opponents, supporters, teammates and the facilities being used.
By entering or attending this tournament, you agree to abide by the relevant Code of Conduct. Any breach may result in suspension or expulsion from the tournament and ineligibility for future events.
Players' Code of Conduct
"For the Good of the Game"

Winning at all costs is not everything — learning is more important than winning at this age.
✓
Only participate if eligible and of the correct age for the relevant team and competition.
✓
Listen only to your coach's instructions during training and games. No one else.
✓
Play by the laws of the game and cooperate with your coach, teammates, referees and officials at all times.
✓
Treat all participants, officials and spectators with respect.
✓
Display good sportsmanship at all times.
✓
Play for the fun of it, not just to please parents or coaches.
✗
Do not use crude, foul or abusive language, or engage in conduct detrimental to the image of the game.
✗
Never argue with the referee or assistant referees regarding their decisions.
✗
Do not use any banned substance or drugs of dependence throughout the tournament.

On the Sideline
✓
Cheer on and encourage all players at all times, including the opposition. Applaud good football all-round.
✓
Focus on the child's effort and performance rather than winning or losing.
✓
Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours. Encourage participation — don't force it.
✓
Show appreciation for coaches, officials and administrators — without them, your child couldn't participate.
✓
Respect officials' decisions and teach children to do likewise.
✓
Respect the facilities being used, and always follow the instructions of referees and tournament staff.
✗
Under no circumstances may you enter the field of play or technical areas during the tournament.
✗
Do not abuse referees or event staff under any circumstances.
✗
Do not coach your child during training or games — it sends mixed messages and creates confusion. Leave it to the coaches.
✗
Do not interfere with training sessions or remain in playing areas, benches, or change rooms.
✗
Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.

Player Welfare

Remember that players participate for fun — winning is only part of that experience.
✓
Ensure all players are eligible and of the correct age and ability level for their competition.
✓
Be reasonable in your demands on a player's time, energy and enthusiasm.
✓
Ensure all players receive equal attention, encouragement and opportunities.
✓
Avoid overplaying talented players — less developed players need and deserve equal playing time.
✓
Show concern and caution towards sick or injured players. Follow the advice of a doctor or tournament first aid staff before allowing return to play.
✓
Any physical contact with a player should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for skill development.
✓
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every player regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, cultural background or religion.
On the Bench
✓
Wear your official tournament accreditation at all times.
✓
Always operate within the rules and spirit of the game and teach your players to do the same.
✓
Display control, respect and professionalism towards everyone — opponents, officials, parents and spectators.
✓
Set the example. Players look up to coaches as role models.
✓
Always follow the instructions of the referee and/or tournament staff.

Do not abuse referees or event staff under any circumstances.

Never ridicule or yell at players for making mistakes or not winning.
✗
Refrain from over-coaching during games — let players play and learn from their own mistakes.
Qualifications & Safety

Obtain appropriate coaching qualifications and stay up to date with the latest coaching practices and player development principles.

Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards appropriate to the age and ability of participants.
